Grounds maintenance and winter services
Grass, hedging, leaves, car parks and approaches. In winter, snow and ice cleared before people arrive — not after the first complaint.
The outside of a building is the first thing a visitor sees and the last thing anyone thinks about until the first snow. So we run grounds work as a standing line with an annual plan, rather than as a series of emergencies.
Through the year
Grass cut on a frequency that follows the season — more often in May than in August. Hedges and low planting trimmed, weeds cleared from paths and joints, lawn feeding, autumn leaf clearance and gullies cleared before the rain arrives. Car parks and approaches are machine-swept; joints and kerb lines are done by hand, because a machine does not reach them.
Winter services
Winter is the one line where being an hour late is immediately visible. We agree a snowfall trigger and a time by which the approach must be passable — normally before your people arrive. We clear approaches, car parks, the pavement alongside the building, steps and entrances, then grit or salt according to temperature.
The liability point
Where a slippery approach is a real risk, we log every attendance with a timestamp. If someone falls and the question of responsibility comes up — and with an insurer involved it will — that log is the only thing worth anything. Companies operating to a parent-company safety standard usually need this and usually find out during an incident rather than before one.
What we look at before quoting
Area, the gradient of the approach, where snow can be stacked when there is a lot of it, whether gullies block with leaves, and whether the site has its own water for irrigation. All of that sets both the price and the crew size.
Annual or seasonal
Either. An annual agreement costs less per attendance and guarantees priority in winter, when every client calls on the same morning. A seasonal contract makes sense for sites with nothing to maintain in summer.
Questions we get
When do you attend in winter?
At the agreed snowfall trigger, so the approach is passable before your people arrive. Earlier shifts mean an earlier attendance.
Does salt damage surfaces?
It can, on some stone and concrete. There we use grit or a gentler de-icer, chosen for the surface.
Do you offer seasonal contracts?
Yes. Annual costs less per attendance and carries winter priority; seasonal suits sites with nothing to maintain in summer.
